Military and Veteran Central Florida Info

You've come to the right spot. Central Florida, to include Orlando and surrounding areas, is very friendly to the needs of us military folks. Whether active or retired, you've got options for healthcare, benefits, and even shopping.
Veteran's Adminstration Healthcare
Orlando VAMC at Lake Nona
Located south of downtown Orlando not far from Orlando International Airport, the Lake Nona VA hosptial is one of the newest facilities in the VA and was built in 2015. This is a full service location that offers a full spectrum of care, including emergency room services. This hospital also provides Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Program and a 120-bed Community Living Center.
On site, you'll have access to disabled vet organizations, vocational rehab, a cafeteria, barber, and an exchange. They also have regular classes for the VA Move! program, yoga, and even zumba.
Also on the Lake Nona VA campus, is the Orlando Fisher House. The Fisher House is a non-profit that provides lodging free of charge to the families of veterans that are admitted for extended hospital stays. It has the feel of a bed and breakfast, provides meals to the families, and has a dedicated and caring staff. It's literally 150 or so yards from the main entrance to the VA.

The Navy Exchange is a full service location offering a barber shop, butcher, deli, electronics, uniforms, and an MWR location for tickets to the attractions. Located right next door to the Orlando International Airport.
